Altered States

One of the most popular classes we offer at Home Ec the one and only Cal Patch will teach you how to make your old wardrobe new again!  In a class inspired by an article she wrote for the Aug/Sep '06 issue of BUST Magazine Cal will show you how to make clothes fit better and look current.  Taking in side seams, adjusting hemlines, lowering waistlines, and piecing in other fabrics are all techniques that can help you become your own personal tailor.  Bring in some garments to play with and we'll give them a new life!  Remember some previous experience required.

Home Ec Open Studio

We know it is hard to think of making things when space is such a constraint.  You have to cut everything out on your kitchen table and of course once you've actually got all your fabric out you'll find you don't have pins or a tape measure or maybe even a decent pair of scissors.  We've been there!  And now we have a solution to the frustration!

Open Studio is a supervised sewing time (not a private lesson) where you will always find a knowledgeable person to help you with questions about your projects and equipment and will always be full of creative suggestions.  Bring your project or just an idea and use our equipment to finally get to working on those ideas you've had for so long!
